HOW DECISIONS AFFECT OUR LIVES

Sometimes, we all feel that we can at least do whatever we want. Isn`t it true that man has free choices as to how he can live his life? Yes that`s true, but there are some other reasons why it `ll be good for us all to consider our steps before we make the daily decisions we always make without a single thought.

Basically, it is not hard for you to wake up this morning, brush your teeth, take a bath, and leave for work after doing all those things you normally do everyday because they`ve become automatic. These decisions are easy to make and carry out. But other types of decisions can be dangerous in terms of the bad that can result from them.

You probably believe that at times your decision could make the difference between life and death or failure and success. Take for instance, a youth who decides to start smoking cigarette with taking into consideration the possible bad side effects attached to it. This could result into a lifelong struggle with lung cancer or some other debilitating disease.

No matter how good you are at making decisions, the fact is that we are all prone to make mistakes or miscalculations due to imperfection. But what is the best step to take when making decisions so as to commit only minor mistakes unforeseen?

According to the Watchtower of April 15, 2006, The best way to make decisions is to follow Bible-based principles or directions. It is true that the Bible reflects on practically all aspects of our lives and I think that it is surely the best for anyone. However, for those who do not believe in the Bible, and those who do not intend to live by its standards, there is still a way for them to make wise decisions. How?

Consult someone you think has more knowledge of the kind of situation at hand. It may not be too hard for you to know someone who has more knowledge in that area than you do. You can gain from that person`s wealth of insight for free and at the same time avoid prospective aches.

Secondly, whenever you make decisions, think of the advantages and the disadvantages. You may have to go for it if the risk is somewhat lesser. It`s all up to you. The importance of this is that even if some steps enjoy much success for a few years, they may lag into the negative. Long-term planning will ensure that you put up means of battling such expected effects.

There is no need for suicide when it appears that thing do not go the way you want. If you keep changing the way you approach situations, you`d definitely find success in the long run.
